A challenge from Itlay!

Morning ALL!

Sweet blogging friend Renata, from Zigzago,http://zigzago-zigzago.blogspot.com/, has challenged me to list seven things about my self...so here we go

#1 Annoyingly optimistic-my life long role model Polly Anna! (having written that..I'm sure you all feel the same way about Polly Anna)

#2 I'm a happy crier not a sad one. My children have been long horrified by this. Watching them at church, on stage or an athletic event I'm a weeping willow..at funeral...dry as a bone.

#3 I have the attention span of a gnat! I sit in the middle..first or second row at church so i can not be sidetracked. YIKES- also to make my singing less painful to those who might have the misfortune of sitting in front of me

#4 Prefer plastic food (think gummy worms) as opposed to real desert (think pie, cheesecakes etc) What is the deal with the name cheesecake anyway...makes me think of a hunk of cheddar with chocolate frosting-guess you can see why i don't eat that!

#5 I used to disc jockey for a top 40 station in my early 20's

#6 I like square things...guess that is why I drive a Honda element!

#7 I love sheep! i don't know why...maybe because i am one.

After reading the above i hope you don't feel like I'm too disturbed...odd yes...disturbed no...well probably not! Have a great day!

p.s. the above picture from Kindergarten...donut on my head...thanks to my mother-the frustrated 'wanna be" beautician (smirk on my face-remembering great pain in flicked by this lovely "do")

p.s.p.s. those of you experiencing a cold snap in the north east...my fault! I put my winter clothes away yesterday!!!

There's a party goin' on right here!

Cassidy's graduation party!!!! We are so proud of her. This is my dad with her enjoying some tasty treats.

One shot of some of our friends and family. All the rain we've been having really has paid off in green. I can hardly believe how GREEN everything looks.

Well had a fabulous time...but i do believe i have a few more gray hairs. The weather forecast the morning of the party, 6am to be exact, said 80 % rain! UGH! With 40 probable attendees that would have been a little/lot tight in my house.

Prayer works!!!! (I knew that...but i love how he reminds me :) God is so good. Not only did he hold back the rain...we had a great day. It was truly one of those moments. God stepped in and said shelia...how about we have a great party...and i'll take care of the weather. The entire day..i was just so thankful. Thankful that i have a God who loves me and cares about even the little things in my life. Thankful for my wonderful daughter Cass, my family, my friends and how everyone pitched in to make it a special day for my little graduate.

A little chilly...a fabulous excuse to bring out the fire pits and make s'mores! YUMMMMMMM My family is blessed with wonderful friends and family. Thank you all!

p.s. recipe tip i learned at the party....REECE's CUPs instead of hershey bars in the s'more. Oh my goodness....how fabulous does that sound. I believe that is reason for another party real soon.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Morning Ladies!
The next couple of weeks are a little crazy for me. My youngest is graduating and I'm having a party for her this weekend. With all the rain we've had ...trying to make my yard presentable is going to take some effort! And then there is the cooking (haven't got that all planned yet), the decorating (not their yet either) and my job...and next week everyone is coming in for the graduation, then in two weeks I'm doing a bridal shower...so I'm in the middle of planning that too. YIKES!
Better get to work....have a look at my lovely daughter and grand baby. The pictures are from the wedding they went to this week...
Have a wonderful and blessed day!

I love that I'm back into sewing again. For one reason its so fun to whip up presents for people. Today is Karin S birthday over at WHAT THE FONT! (see my blog list) Last night i made the makeup pouch for her. Jump over to her blog and wish her a happy one!
My sweet grand baby is making her first big trip and her first big outing. She is going to a wedding in Indiana (real long car ride 12ish hours-glad it's my daughter & SIL and NOT Me)
Anyway...she has this beeeeeeeautiful dress to wear and needed a pair of shoes....grandma to the rescue! I took the bunny shoe design from Easter and operated to design these little beauties. She has a matching red/plaid bib (Darla fabric). She is going to be a site! .....hey...that is not grandma bias...its not! :)
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Well seasoned?

My middle daughter went to a wonderful Christian University, Indiana Wesleyan. As they were taking in the freshman- the kids and parents were handed out the above little business sized card. It has and is one of those things that has always stuck with me and hangs by my computer some 5 years later.

Lately salt and its properties keep coming to my thoughts. So I've been doing a little digging. I'm still thinking about what I've been learning and how it applies... but i thought I'd share with you . I'd love to hear your thoughts!

The Bible refers to salt some 41 times...and its various uses and properties. Below are a mix of what scripture clearly says, symbolism i believe it points to and other properties of salt ...

HOW do they.... or do they apply in my faith walk?

* salt is essential for human life
*salt is necessary for all living creatures

*too little salt and you die ...too much salt and you die

*salt is a preservative
*salt ratified covenants

*salt was used a strengthener for newborn infants

*salt has been used for its healing and therapeutic properties
*in many languages, salt is used as a symbol for wisdom and knowledge
*salt used as payment

*salt used in sacrifices
*salt and peace?

*salted oil?

Matt: 5:13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled under food by men.

Colossians 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

Mark 9:50 "Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another."
These are just a very few of the most commonly thought of verses containing salt. Do you have any thoughts, insights you'd like to share with me? I'd love to hear from my wise sisters across the world!

Need a reason to smile?

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world." (Psalm 19:1-4; cf. Psalm 97:6)

Have a blessed Sunday!

Finally!

I finally finished the diaper bag for my daughter! Of course, I couldn't wait til Mothers Day...so off to the farmers market we went this morning. Double bonus..picture of my daughter Lacey and baby Emerson. She is getting so big!(the baby not Lacey!) I love this age where they seem noticeably bigger every day. Time goes by so fast. Treasure each moment this weekend!

This is an exchange rate I can enjoy

Wendy from The Netherlands asked me to participate in a private swap with her. She had sent my grandaughter a wonderful bib and burp cloth set in a previous swap so i knew it would be great fun.

I started last weekend and finished the above. Her son is named Cas (my daughter is Cass) gotta love that. I just heard that she recieved them and thought i'd show you too!

Have a wonderful weekend!
