Part 2

Raising daughters is like mountain climbing....
you can't keep them from taking chances in life.
They're going to leave
No matter what--it's making sure you've used the right rope and given
the right amount of slack.

  1. Those "developmental stages" that are so well-documented for the first three years NEVER stop. There seem to be "developmental stages" to parenting, too. You have experienced the "wedding" stage and the "grandbaby" stage. I still have those to look forward to.

But sending that last one off to college for the first time is so bittersweet. I have been there, and survived it. She went to a small church-related university where she met her future husband. He shares her devotion to God and has a wonderful family. (They are getting married in 8 weeks.) I just pray for similar blessings for your little girl!

  2. Oh, Mama...what a bittersweet time!

(At least she's got her baby blanket...to keep her warm. ;-))

Incidentally, I always LOVE your comments, and would love to be able to respond to them on e-mail. Would it be possible for you to add an e-mail address to your profile so I could respond to your comments personally?? If you don't know how, I can show you. :-)

    Have a great Sunday!!!
