A sweetheart of a purse!

I love learning something new...yesterday I gave into my impulse to start a NEW project. (instead of finishing up one of the other two dozen i have started)
So another bag review today. I used a pattern from Keyka Lou. I have used her patterns many times before but this purse was new to me. I have resisted because of the inset zipper pocket YIKES...but not to fear...it was..dare i say...EASY!

The sweetheart shopper is a nice size bag for "normal" people. I personally like suitcase size purses. But this is really a great bag...and perfect for spring.

Keyka Lou writes patterns very clear. In fact, by way of review..i wish i'd have read it thru first. (i get a little excited and jump right in!!!) But i think it turned out well... i'm not happy with the button... it's coming off and a larger covered button going on...i think...what do you think?
I think a third pattern, large covered button...but HELP! I'd love a second, third...you get it...i need some opinions!

Have a fabulous day!
This IS the day that the Lord has made.

  4. Hi Sheila, thanks for leaving a comment on my blog about the Bootie Bag....trust me hun, mine would be a suitcase! Luckily for me though, I have a great thrift shop within walking distance of home that I source alot of jeans etc from....I just made 2 more bags last night and am about to put pics up on my blog. Now, getting on to your dilemma with the button...I'm thinking a large round fabric coloured button in either the contrast fabric or the jade colour in the main fabric if you have any. But that's just I.M.H.O Have a great day hun. Hugs Naomi

  5. The bag is great! I like your idea of a bigger button but no advice on which way to go with that.

The zipper...oh, my goodness...the zipper looks fantastic! I would be intimidated by that, too! Nice to hear it isn't as bad as I'm imagining.

Thanks for the info on her etsy shop. I'll take a look around.
